Wedding Planning Update

Just a little update... Things are running very smoothly. Most of the big stuff (the place, the flowers, the getaway, the officiant...) is planned or at least mapped out.
Kyle and I are also registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond (www.bedbathandbeyond.com) under my first and last name and the date, April 3rd.
In Washington a few weeks ago we got all the bridesmaids dresses and the suits for the groom and the two groomsmen.
My dress has been ordered and should be in in a few more weeks. The one I tried on in the store was ivory and too big so I can hardly wait to see it in my size in white!
We have also booked our honeymoon... In Jamaica!
October should be very busy... Kyle is flying down for the weekend of October 17th. Shannon is also due to have her baby girl on October 19th, although the doctor thinks she may be early. We have company that week as well for specials and then on the 26th Mom, Dad and I are flying to Mexico for 2 weeks... That'll bring us into November!
And the Seahawks finally won a game today!
I can't believe tomorrow is already the first day of fall!

Mom's Birthday

Mom celebrated her birthday yesterday with the family. Us girls went to Olive Garden for lunch. Aunt Glenna, Renee, Jessica (with Jhett) and Grandma all came. Poor Jhett was stuck with all the ladies! But he didn't seem to mind too much... He had fun charming everyone with his brilliant two-toothed grin. After meeting Wednesday the family stayed for cake and icecream. Bree was very impatient for cake. Carter was impatient until he got some hugs and tickles from Great-Grandma! Camden is crawling faster than a train now and is so close to walking. He can stand on his own for a bit and took a few shaky steps last night. With the two big kids showing him how he'll be up and running in no time... Mom blew out her candles and the kids finally got their cake. Carter and Jhett missed their great-grandma while she was on her world travels!
Uncle Kevin with Carter everyone watching Mom open her presents The kids had a blast with the tissue paper. They tried to decorate Jhett with it. It's really hard to get all the kids together for a picture... You have to take what you can get. I was just happy I got them all in the same picture at one time! Niece #2 (Bryanna's little sister) is due in about a month!

When the World Stopped Turning: A 9/11 tribute

I was 14 and I was at my aunt and uncle's in Washington staying with my cousin and her two kids. My second cousin and I were sleeping in the living room and his mom came and woke us up to tell us.

Jhett and Bree

Friday afternoon I babysat Jhett for a few hours while Jess worked. Mom and I picked up Bree in the afternoon and took her to the carousel. She turns 3 in November and is one smart cookie. She chattered the whole way there.
She said, "Auntie Kari, my mommy told me red in Spanish is roco."
"Rojo," I corrected.
Then she said, "Auntie Kari, my mommy told me green is verde."
I told her that blue in Spanish is azul. She said, "Auntie Kari, you're kiddin' me!" I told her I was not kidding and she said "Auntie Kari you are sooo silly!"
She was excited about the carousel and kept talking about "riding horseys". We explained to her that they weren't real horseys, though. While we were waiting for "Grandma Karen" to get tokens, Bree asked where the potty was. I asked if she had to go and she said, "No, for the horseys." Apparently the "they aren't real" conversation didn't quite sink in. Bree got two rides. She picked the orange tiger for the first ride and I went to stand beside her. After one revolution she says to me, "This is fuuun! I am sooo happy!" She went on the green frog for the second ride with Mom. Jhett had fun watching the carousel go 'round and 'round while Bree laughed and waved. As it was mid-afternoon and very hot by the time we were done with the carousel, we stopped for some icecream. Bree got chocolate with M&Ms, her idea.
